The 90 Day Challenge, Day 27 – Trust Is hooding To Endure

“Then Pilate had Jesus flogged with a lead-tipped whip. The soldiers wove a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and they put a purple robe on him. “Hail! King of the Jews!” they mocked, as they slapped him across the face.” -John 19:1-3

Jesus is whipped, mocked, and slapped. What is truly astounding is He could have stopped all of it with a word. He could have called thousands of angels to his rescue. He could have walked right out of there as He had done on other occasions. He could have said “no” and it would have been over… but He didn’t. Instead, He chose to trust God in spite of the abuse.

We trust God with our salvation. We seek to trust the Lord in a crisis. We pray, and ask others to pray and we wait for God to move. But are we willing to trust God and stay the course when we could change things? Are we willing to trust God may have a purpose for going through what is before us and therefore embrace it and walk through it instead of rejecting it? It seems, trust includes self-denial. Jesus said as much; “if anyone would come after me, he must deny himself…”

Lord, give me the wisdom to know when it is trust to change what is before me, and when to trust I am to go through something I could have changed.
